2024- That is a wrap

This year, I took advantage of many new opportunities and situations, including expanding my portfolio and resume. I also had a lot of side projects I was able to work on and examine.

OMHA

I can not go without mentioning this museum. Orangetown Museum Historical Archive (OMHA) is a small museum in Rockland. I have been working on a bunch of different projects. I found them because I was applying everywhere in my Job search. I was super excited when I got a response. Since I was little I knew about this museum but never visited it. I also deeply admire art history and history (despite it not being my major).

Some of the projects I have finished are:

  • Improving social media presence for online viewership. This includes looking at trends for videos.

  • Online exhibition through Prezi and update of “Our Dutch Sandstone” exhibition

  • Exploration of different ways to market events using my artistic eye in events - “Annual Holiday Open House” and “Forever Young”

  • Understood and strengthened my video editing skills by making “From Camp Shanks to Hickory Hill: Tales of a 1950s Time Traveler” and “Creating Community 1950”

  • Made posters and a

I also received a Recognition Award for the work I have been doing.

Bullet Journals

I started bullet journaling back in 2018 to help my organization while I was in school. This has helped me significantly. This year the difference between my current one and the older ones is that this book was a consistent year. I used to have individual books splitting things up into 2-3 books a year. It just got a little tiring so I wanted to improve my skills.

I also changed my biggest element which is giving this year a theme. So my biggest inspiration came from the Broadway Museum and my love of musicals. So each month was different (themes below)

  • January - The Lightning Theif

  • February - Tick Tick Boom

  • March - Sunday in the Park with George

  • April- Adams Family

  • May- West Side Story

  • June- Six

  • July- Come From Away

  • August- Hamilton

  • September- Between the Lines

  • October- Fiddler on the Roof

  • November- Wicked

  • December- Hadestown

I am so excited I have brought this back. Next year is Pokemon types so the hype is on for 2025.

HCIO Speaker

I got an opportunity to speak at Human Computer Interactions Organization at SUNY Oswego where I got my graduate degree and advanced certificates. I with many of my peers was able to talk about my experiences. Also what to look forward to.

I hope to do more speaking opportunities in life about projects or opportunities I get.

Museums

I have traveled a lot to museums this year. This was either with friends or family (or me wandering myself out of curiosity).

  1. Museum of Natural History

  2. Monet Immersive Exhibition

  3. Metropolitan

  4. Orangetown Museum Historical Archive

  5. Storm King Arts Center

  6. Museum of Broadway

  7. The New York Public Library (honorary mention for their exhibitions)

I know I have a few museums I will be going to in 2025 so I will be excited on that.

Upcoming 2025

Since I graduated in Dec 2023 I have had a lot of exciting things I have done. While job hunting is still a pain I have been doing a lot of resume-building. Next year has so many new adventures and things to look forward to. More projects, more writing, more things to do. Like Pokemon to catch.

EDIT: Finally an academic publication on Final Fantasy into a paper! (confirmed lowkey after I wrote this whole piece)
